I “visit” Paul White

Paul is a British artist, I ”met” him out there in cyberspace, at Saatchi online, where I noticed his great works of art.

Paul has a great scope in his artistic expression. Among his paintings you will find some with a surreal and very strong expression, and you will find some with a kind of naive but very poetic expression.

It is clear that Paul knows his materials, and I think that he would be able to paint anything.

I really love his style and I love the way he works with the color palette. Actually I find his art quite unique and I really enjoy exploring Paul´s works of art.

I have chosen some of his works to show you, but you might want to se more. Visit Paul on his homepage, at Saatchi Online or at Facebook

Aros

I went to Aros – the local museum of Art. I love the place and with my membership card I can go there as often as I like. And I like to go often.

They are celebrating the 70th birthday of Mogens Gissel with a special exhibition. I like his artwork.  His works are clean, the colors seem dry and clear and some of his works are more sketch-like.

And of course, when I am at Aros I must see the department of contemporary art. And to my great pleasure I saw that they had a huge artwork, made by Robert Rauchenberg and a huge artwork made by David Parrish. Two great Pop Art artists.

Who creates the artworks?

I read an article in The Independent about a row between the two British artists David Hockney and Damien Hirst

“A row is threatening to break out between two of Britain’s most celebrated artists after David Hockney criticised Damien Hirst for the “insulting” use of assistants to create his works.”

(follow the link above and read the whole article)

It rises an interesting question – does a piece of art has to be made entirely by the artist or is it still the work of the artist if he or she hire assistants to do the handcrafts for them?

What is your opinion ?
